Facts and data sources

Eclipse times are computed by us from public astronomical data. Weather statistics are derived from ERA5 data of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (see How we know). Those sources keep their own licences.

Information only

This site provides general information about the 2027 and 2028 total solar eclipses. It is provided "as is", without any warranty that it is accurate, complete, up to date or fit for a particular purpose. It is not medical, eye-care, travel, safety or legal advice, and it does not replace advice from a qualified professional or from the authorities.

Eye safety

This site gives no eye-safety advice. For guidance on watching an eclipse, follow the recommendations of NASA, the American Astronomical Society or your own eye-care professional.

Travel and weather

Clear-sky chances describe past weather, not a forecast, so they cannot tell you what the sky will do on the day. Eclipse times near the edge of the path can differ by seconds.

This site gives no travel or safety advice and makes no statement about whether any place or trip is safe. For that, read the official travel advice of your own government, such as the UK Foreign Office, the Spanish foreign ministry, the French foreign ministry or the German Federal Foreign Office.

Third parties

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from your use of the site or from relying on its information.
